joondalup city centre

Joondalup City Centre is unique. Where else in Perth does a tranquil regional park blend so seamlessly into an urban city centre filled with boutique restaurants and cafés, plus one of Perth’s largest shopping centres?

Not only that, Joondalup City Centre is also home to Edith Cowan University, North Metro TAFE, and the WA Police Academy, making it a hive of activity for people from all walks of life.

Stroll through the streets and admire the murals that line the laneways, grab a treat from one of the delectable patisseries or make your way to Central Park or Neil Hawkins Park to enjoy some peace.

there’s more to explore at hillarys

Hillarys Boat Harbour is one of Perth’s most visited attractions. It’s easy to see why, with the abundant food and beverage options, tranquil waters and boutique shopping on offer.

You could very easily spend the whole day at Hillarys Boat Harbour. Breakfast at one of the great cafés, then a swim at Sorrento Beach just south of the car park. Browse the stores then choose one of the many lunch options before heading for another swim in the calm marina waters and ending the day with a bowl and sunset dinner and drinks.

And you can come back the next day and do it all over again!

find out what lies beneath the sea

Marmion Marine Park runs the length of the City’s coastline providing visitors and locals with loads of great dive and snorkel locations. Marmion Beach is a great spot for avid snorkellers to discover the marine life and underwater plinths which are part of the Marmion Angling and Aquatic Club Dive and Snorkel Trail. Boyinaboat Reef is located approx. 75m from the Hillarys Boat Harbour groyne and is another great snorkel site. The list could go on, and it does at the Department of Parks and Wildlife website.

If you’re not so confident in the water, you can still explore under the sea at AQWA – the Aquarium of WA. Travel through Australia’s largest single aquarium and underwater moving conveyor belt tunnel as sharks, turtles, stingrays and fish swim above, explore marine life from WA’s different coastal zones or if you’re feeling brave, dive or snorkel with the sharks in the shipwreck coast aquarium.

golf, anyone?

Joondalup Golf Course (officially known as Joondalup Country Club) is not for the faint-hearted. It is a 27-hole championship course unlike any other. Sweeping through serene bushland, past lakes and rolling limestone quarries, the Joondalup Country Club is a challenging course for the even the most dedicated golfer. And if you’re there at dawn or dusk, you might find yourself golfing amongst the local kangaroos!
